What a Journey So Far.....

I am in Croatia... delayed a day.... and without my luggage for some time.... but here....

So on Monday, June 10th I boarded the plane.... then we were asked to get off, there was a problem with the plane a hydraulics leak. No problem, I stayed in a hotel because I didn't want to put anyone out having them come get me to just bring me back in the morning... waste of gas for them. So my trip was delayed one day no problem, God always knows what He is doing.

Next day, all went as planned, boarded plane and off we went...

I arrived in Houston and had a 6 hour layover. Not what I had originally but, it was okay. I got on the next plane to Frankfurt, Germany, no problems with this flight it was actually better than the one 6 years ago. I could not sleep but that is the case most of the time when I travel, I never can get comfortable enough to sleep. The food was okay and I was sitting by a nice person from South Africa. We talked about our journeys and I found out his father was a missionary in Africa when he was growing up. He plans to returned to South Africa when his children are out of college.

Upon arriving in Frankfurt, I had 20 mins to get to the next gate.... no problem, I made it with time to run to the restroom.... the fun part is that the plane was actually on the other side of the airport from the gate and we had to take a shuttle to it. The plane took off 15 mins. late. Still no problem, I was on the home stretch to Croatia.

I arrive in Croatia, go through customs.... no problems.... but No luggage except my backpack! It was lost somewhere in the changing of the planes. Still I am not worried I have a change of clothes in my bag, an the person at the baggage desk told me it would be brought to me probably the next day. This is Wednesday.

I am staying at the Panonjia Hotel in Sisak, Croatia, until we leave for our teaching venue, the room is nice, it is small but I don't need a suite. I love the blinds, I need to find some like these for my house, almost no light gets in at all! The food here is good, there is a continental breakfast, lunch and dinner is served if you wish to pay for it. I had one meal at dinner here at the hotel, it was shrimp and rice (Rizoto od Skampi).

I am writing this on Friday, my luggage arrived at sometime after I went to bed Thursday and before I got up this morning. I have never been so happy to see luggage! I opened it and to my surprise I see a TSA baggage check tag.... most probably the reason for it's delay.

Now to tell about some of the other things that I have done already.

My friends from my last trip, Kristina and Paula came to pick me up at the airport. I had purchased Louisiana gifts for them before I left. Paula's gift was in my backpack, he seemed to be saying is it time to get out now when I open the bag to give him to her. This fellow is a small green stuffed alligator with Louisiana on his belly.

I made a mini me, that I am planning to let photo bomb some of the photos I take... her head needs reinforcing, I really should have laminated her.... see if you can find her on occasion when I post photos.... I don't look nearly as cute as she does.... but then why not make my mini me look better! 

I have done some exploring, and I will obviously do more.... but I am going to close this for now.
