Gathering

Gathering tools.... Gathering items needed.... and Gathering together!

There are many things we need to take with us to teach English. The students need workbooks and we need journals for them to write in.  I have been trying to find tracts in Croatian but have been unsuccessful. I could get some wordless ones, pray that I will find the right ones. 

We needed a way to project some things on the wall during Chapel and in my class, so I purchased a projector... it will be easy to travel with because of the size. I have never seen a projector this small. I think it will work well.  

We met together at Erin's (another person on the team) house to discuss the trip and refresh our minds about how to teach the lessons. Wileen modeled how to teach a word and reminded us about how to use the hand motions so as not to cause issues with participants. In some culture it is offensive to point or to put one finger over your lips to ask the class to be quite. We are supposed to use our whole open hand. The teammate's dog join us as we shared with each other. It was a productive a fun time. I can't wait to meet again together in Croatia.  

Vlademir, a pastor we work with in Croatia, is having health problems. I am asking you to please pray for him. He is always a great encouragement and has great compassion for the people of his nation. I pray for healing and God's will for his life. 

It is only a few weeks before I leave. I want to study and spend more time in prayer about this trip. Please pray for this trip and that many people will come to know the Lord through our witness. I want to be used of the Lord in all that I do here in my classroom, and when I travel to Croatia.
